What is the best way to get the desired torque should the motor gearbox combinations be selected in any particular way? Namely, which configuration option is more beneficial: a high-torque motor paired with low-gear transmission, or a low-torque motor complemented with high-gear transmission?

For instance, if my torque requirement is 50Nm, should I opt for a motor that provides 2Nm of torque combined with a 25:A motor that is rated at 10Nm of torque, when used individually of the gearbox, or a 5:1 gearbox when used in conjunction with the said motor (it is just theoretical)?

Thus, one can ask: to what extent are these combinations effective compared to each other?

What has more probability of being cheaper than the other?

Tessamary Generally, a higher ratio gear train receives lower efficiency due to friction and power loss. A 25:A gearbox with 1:1 ration is then colonize to suffer more losses than a 5:1; gearbox. However, motors typical have a higher efficiency where they are required to provide less torque at a higher rpm, which ideally suits the low torque and high rpm motor option.
Cost:
Machines with low-torque high-velocity motors are generally cheaper to purchase than are machines with high-torque motors. Still, more ratio, gearboxes are often more intricate and expensive in comparison to low-ratio gearboxes. It is feasible to state that the cost-effectiveness would crucially depend on the type of components that are used and the application meant.
Size and weight:
Some characteristic features of high-torque motors compared to low-torque motors include the following: High-torque motors are generally big in size and weight as compared to low-torque motors. However, high-ratio gearboxes are frequently larger than low-size ones, although high-ratio gearboxes can comprise of a multiple types of cogwheels as compared to low-ratio gearboxes. Think of some conditions limiting the available area in your application.
Control and responsiveness:
Most applications show preference to lower gear ratios since they in most cases provide enhanced control and quick response.
Maintenance:
For higher ratio gearboxes, the working could be severe, consequently, the frequency of service could be higher.
Speed requirements:
Take into consideration the optimization of speed, depending on the application that you are developing. A high ratio of the gearbox means that there will be a low output speed when compared to the input speed.

In many cases, using a low-torque motor with a high-ratio gearbox is more advantageous:In many cases, using a low-torque motor with a high-ratio gearbox is more advantageous:

It enables use of a small, cheap motor, in the diamond manufacturing process .
This means that the motor can turn at higher rates that is usually beneficial to it since efficiency increases with the rate at which the motor turns.
It offers improved thermal characteristics because of increased operating speeds of the motor.

However, based on the above comparison, each option has its benefits, and the one to be chosen is determined by the specific application, including speed, precision, available space and the amount of money one is willing to spend.
For a definitive answer, you'd need to:For a definitive answer, you'd need to:

Finally, determine the overall efficiency of every system identified in the courses.
The total costs for each option then can be compared.
Make sure the chosen combination satisfies all application specifications it should offer (speed, accuracy, size etc. ).

for a humanoid with skeletal structure as the frame, in my exploration, low torque high speed motors typically used for drones or scooters are the best priced due to economies of scale and their high demand. The downgearing I theorized is best done by way of pulleys to keep it silent and they are able to be custom made to be very tiny sized without too much difficulty or special machines to make them.

The high torque pancake style bldc motors were too big to fit in my case.
