Shanghai to Boost Humanoid Robot Development and Industry Density

At the Shanghai Innovation and Entrepreneurship Youth Forum, Zhang Ying, director of the Shanghai Municipal Economic and Information Technology Commission, announced plans to accelerate the development of open-source humanoid robot prototypes. The National and Local Humanoid Robot Innovation Center was unveiled, aiming to create an ecosystem for research, talent cultivation, and industrial application. By 2025, Shanghai targets a robot density of 500 units per 10,000 people in key industries and aims for large-scale application of 1,000 humanoid robots within three years.
